Griffeen Valley Park is located in Lucan. The Griffeen River, a tributary of the Liffey enhances this gentle rolling park which offers many pleasant walks. The park incorporates many sports facilities including Lucan Sports & Leisure Centre, all-weather floodlit athletics track, an all-weather Hockey pitch, Ireland's lragest concrete skate park, tennis courts, playing pitches and a children’s play area. There are riverside walks as well as acres of woodland to explore and enjoy. A feature of this park is King John’s Bridge, claimed to be the oldest bridge in Ireland. This bridge, which is recorded on 18th century maps, allows access over the Griffeen River from Old Esker to Authur Griffith Park.
